When you delete files from an iPhoto library in Decloner, the files are not removed. Instead Decloner puts them in iPhoto Trash, so that you can review and delete them manually by emptying Trash from iPhoto, or restore trashed files back into the library.
To delete duplicate images from an iPhoto library
-
In the staging area, select the files to delete that are located in an iPhoto library.
To select an individual file, click it once.
To select multiple files, hold down the Command key ⌘ and click files one by one.
-
To delete selected iPhoto files, click the Delete button. Wait until Decloner finishes communicating with iPhoto. If iPhoto wasn't running, you should see Decloner launch it to delete the files.
Note that you cannot stop Decloner while it communicates with iPhoto.
If the files you selected are located in different iPhoto libraries, Decloner will attempt to relaunch iPhoto for each library to delete files in it. Please allow sufficient time for this operation to complete.
Delete & Link feature is not available for files in iPhoto library. If your selection contains such files, the Delete & Link button is disabled.
- Switch to iPhoto and select Trash in the sidebar on the left to see files Decloner put there. Review and delete or restore the duplicate files manually as you see fit. To delete the files from iPhoto permanently, control-click iPhoto Trash and choose Empty Trash.
If you have bought Decloner on the Mac App Store
- Decloner can only delete files from the currently active iPhoto library (the one currently shown in iPhoto). If the staging area contains files from an iPhoto library that is different from the currently active iPhoto library, those files cannot be deleted and will be grayed out. If your selection contains such files, the Delete and Delete & Link action buttons will be disabled. To exclude files from selection that cannot be deleted, click the Fix Selection button that becomes visible in this case.
